KVM Switches Galore!

With increasing computing demand, expontentially improving performance and the decreasing price point, the number of Servers in any one organisation just keeps increasing. Once thought of as a luxury, the humble KVM switch is now the quintessential piece of equipment in any server rack. It is therefore only natural, that this once niche market will throw up new contenters.

Enter Oxca.

Despite being a relatively new player, Oxca displays a full range of products that challenges every solution offered by the more established players like ATEN. This is even more surprising in the mid to enterprise level market where Oxca pose a serious challenge.

Take for example the Oxca KMC-432, the 32-port 4-console Matrix Cat5 KVM switch. This amazing unit allows you to managed up to 32 machines in a single 1U module.

It comes default with one local console and one remote console allowing 2 administrators to access the 32 managed machines simultaneously. But it does not stop there. There are 2 console expansion slot that allows you to to add capability for 2 more remote consoles and these are either for the normal wired (CAT5) remote consoles or IP remote consoles. Here's the interest part. Wired CAT5 consoles can be up to 1000m away from the KVM unit, while the IP remote console can just be about any where on the Internet. This makes the KMC-432 the ideal solution for large data centers with Ops-room removed from the server racks, and provide fro both wired and IP based redundancy solution.

The KMC-432 is multi-platorm supporting both PS/2 and USB computers and ssupports the whole suite of operating system - Windows, DOS, Netware, Unix, Linux and MacOS. No software is required to managed the system and all managed machines are hot pluggable meaning that you can add and remove connected managed machines without having to power off the KMC-432 or the managed machines themselves. If that's not enough the KMC-432 can be daisy-chained up to 7 levels allowing you to manage a whopping 256 machines.
